If you don’t need the program “ctfmon.exe” running on your Windows computer, you can disable it with these steps.
- Run Regedit.exe
- Navigate (Ctrl-L) to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesTabletInputService
- Edit the Start key to be 4.
- Close Regedit
- Restart your computer.
Now that annoying “service” should be disabled. (Annoying as in you have to edit the registry instead of configuring it like other real services.)
But be warned: you might not be able to type Emoji or use text-related services.
