Fix to disable “ctfmon.exe” in Windows 10

If you don’t need the program “ctfmon.exe” running on your Windows computer, you can disable it with these steps.

  1. Run Regedit.exe
  2. Navigate (Ctrl-L) to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TabletInputService
  3. Edit the Start key to be 4.
  4. Close Regedit
  5. Restart your computer.

Now that annoying “service” should be disabled. (Annoying as in you have to edit the registry instead of configuring it like other real services.)

But be warned: you might not be able to type Emoji or use text-related services.
